WeSellFans sells industrial fans to companies building paint booths. Their buyers are plant engineers and facility managers who need to size a fan before they can buy one. Most of them were doing the math wrong, or not at all, and ending up with under-ventilated booths that failed NFPA 33 inspections.
The old process was a phone call. A buyer calls, describes their booth, and WeSellFans walks them through the calculation. That works, but it doesn’t scale, and it doesn’t generate leads from buyers who aren’t ready to pick up the phone yet.
What we built
A 5-variable calculator that handles all 5 common paint booth configurations. Open face, cross draft, down draft, side down draft, and semi down draft. Each booth type uses a different airflow formula tied to face area or floor area and a specific velocity target.
The calculator takes booth dimensions, velocity, filter condition, spray method, and fan type as inputs. It outputs required CFM with adjustments for filter loading and solvent-based paints. Users get a specific number they can use to size a fan.
Around the tool we built a technical reference guide covering the NFPA 33 and OSHA 1910.107 requirements, measurement best practices, and the most common sizing mistakes. The reference content earns the page its ranking. The calculator earns the lead.
